Hatha yoga is generally the basic form of yoga exercise, which involves slow stretching of the body as well as meditation ,may be that is the reason that often it is called Hatha yoga meditation. It was Yogi Swatmarama, who introduced this form of yoga in 15th century and today millions of people worldwide to attain a balanced stage of body and mind practice it. Other forms of yoga exercises like Kundalini, Ashtanga yoga and Power yoga uses Hatha Yoga as its basis.
Hatha yoga breathing and its techniques:
A correct breathing technique is very important in order to derive maximum benefit from Hatha Yoga Breathing. As per the available yoga guides, Hatha yoga involves simple yet long and slow breathing techniques, which helps an individual to exhale even the last bit of residual breath ,as to maximize the amount of fresh air inside the body.
To start with, you have to learn correct breathing techniques, so initially begin with slow and controlled breathing, fully exhaling the air from the system, clearing and relaxing the inspiratory muscles, and breathe back in the same steady pace to fill your system with fresh oxygen.
Kundalini hatha yoga uses Hatha yoga as its base:
Hatha yoga, which simply implies balance between the opposite forces in the body, sun denoting the masculine power and moon representing female power, is the main concept used in Kundalini yoga too. In Kundalini hatha yoga, the focus is on deriving the energy from Kundalini found at the base of spine. Therefore, a series of snake poses along with chanting of mantras constitutes Kundalini Hatha Yoga. Moreover, these poses and mantras help in deriving the energy to purify and energize the body.
Hatha vinyasa yoga, an advanced version of Hatha yoga:
Although going deeper in to the yoga exercise one finds great difference between the Hatha Yoga and Hatha Vinyasa yoga, it the origin is same, that is, Vinyasa yoga is the advanced and faster pace of the traditional Hatha yoga. Therefore, in simple words we can say that Hatha yoga is the basis of Vinyasa yoga.
On one hand, Hatha Yoga involves slow body movements with mantras and pause in between the steps, vinyasa yoga on the other hand is a continuous flow of steps along with the flow of breathing, which makes it a bit difficult.
