Surya namaskar yoga

Introduction

Surya namaskar poses:

Surya Namaskar or sun salutation is for worshipping solar god or Surya, which is the centre of energy. Therefore, the surya namaskar poses are such that it seems to worship Surya and includes 12 set of different forward and backward movements along with controlled breathing. As per the yoga guides whenever you perform surya namaskar, in one complete round, you end up doing 24 body movements on both sides that is left and right. Starting with Pranamasana or Prayer pose on right, to the same asana on left side, you complete one full circles of surya namaskar.

Generally, you have to do the forward and backward movements to stretch the spines with alternate breathing too. Except in sixth asana where you salute in eight limbs pose and required to hold the breath.
